Cash seized from crooks will be used to help children and young people escape the clutches of County Lines gangs exploiting them to sell drugs in communities across North Wales.

PACT

The North Wales Police and Community Trust (PACT) was launched in 1998 to support community initiatives, particularly those in which the Police are involved, which aim to improve the quality of life by reducing crime and fear of crime in the communities of North Wales.

PACT encourages applications from community and voluntary groups, in partnership with their Neighbourhood Policing Teams, that will have a positive impact in local communities and encourage a safer environment and increased quality of life. All applicants are expected evidence how the proposal will support the current Police and Crime Plan

PACTs objectives are to invest in projects that:

  • Promote an enhanced quality of life through crime prevention initiatives that reduce crime and the fear of crime and protect people and property from criminal activity.
  • Promote education of drug and alcohol abuse to reduce crime
  • Promote road safety as an integral part of life through training, education and special projects.

Our Board of trustees are committed to supporting these objectives which is reflected in PACTs on-going development to ensure that the Trust supports projects which address issues that are important to local communities.

We administer the Participatory Budget Fund on behalf of the Police and Crime Commissioner. Each year applicants across north Wales receive a share of £40,000 following a public vote in each county.

PACT also manages the distribution of the Police Property Act Fund for the Commissioner and through this we are able to offer a variety of funding opportunities, including:

  • Neighbourhood Policing Team Small Grant Fund – available to NPT members to apply for up to £250.00 to support local initiatives and community groups.
  • Main Grant fund – £250 to £2,000. Available for officer, staff and external community groups to apply. Applications will be assessed by Trustees at their meetings in February, July and October each year.
  • Since 2010 PACT has developed and delivered a major youth education workshop – “Justice in a Day” – educating almost 3,000 young people about the consequences of crime.
